Someone Better

My friend Sarah once asked me, “if someone better for him comes along, will you be okay with that?”

I took a minute to ponder and said, "yes."

I didn’t realize at the time how difficult that yes would be on my heart.

Because she did come along.

By the grace of God and good friendship and wisdom, I am okay. Well,

I will be okay.

I know I am not the one for him. And that was difficult to accept. But in this, he can be with the one who is better for him. I refuse to be selfish; my want for him to be happy and have the absolute best exceeds my own feelings for him.

Lord, protect my heart and open my eyes to the plans you have for me. Bless our friendship and help us to build one another without awkwardness or disdain or lies. Thank you for who you are and giving me the wisdom and grace to walk in this
