This past week I’ve been in France and Italy, celebrating a close friend’s wedding and enjoying rest with my girlies. It’s rare for me to be abroad just as a tourist, so I’m soaking in every moment!
As I write from a quiet spot just behind the Colosseum in Rome, I’m overwhelmed by the weight of history and the glory of the gospel. Just a week after Easter, the truth of the empty tomb feels especially powerful in this place where so many early Christians gave their lives for the name of Jesus. These ancient stones once echoed with the cries of the persecuted.
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
Philippians 1:21
Their unwavering faith challenges me deeply, especially as I think about the millions today who still suffer for Christ and the billions who have yet to even hear His name. The resurrection isn’t just history, it’s a living hope that compels us to go, to pray, and to boldly proclaim!
