My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Synopsis: When a simple island girl named Tress sets out across a sea of deadly spores to rescue someone she loves, she finds herself tangled in a world of skyships, cursed sailors, talking rats, and cosmic secrets. What begins as a rescue mission quickly becomes a journey of self-discovery, bravery, and unexpected adventure—all narrated by a delightfully snarky storyteller with secrets of his own.
Incredible.
Pirates of the Caribbean meets Percy Jackson meets The Princess Bride meets Ferris Bueller - and somehow, it works perfectly. Tress of the Emerald Sea is a wildly imaginative, delightfully offbeat adventure that blends heart, humor, and high-stakes hijinks into a story that’s impossible to put down.
The narration was one biggest highlights - clever, self-aware, and consistently entertaining. It feels like being told a story by a witty friend who’s just as much a part of the journey as the characters themselves.
Tress is instantly lovable: curious, determined, and quietly brave (even when she doesn't realize she is). The supporting cast is equally punchy, from unpredictable pirates to oddball companions. The world-building is rich without being overwhelming, and the pacing kept me hooked from start to finish!
Packed with hilarious one-liners, whimsical twists, and moments of genuine heart, this book isn’t just a great read, it’s a joyful experience. Brandon Sanderson delivers a tale that’s both epic and intimate, a modern fairytale that sticks with you long after the final page. Truly a great novel.
