Oh, I'm Positive

Last week, I spontaneously decided to give blood! We're in the middle of a global pandemic so I figured this is a needed time. We went to the donation center and got it all done within an hour.

Folks, lemme tell ya, I'm so weird when I donate!

I get super nervous because I hate needles, and I also get super dizzy.

Once they set me in the chair I immediately started laughing... I mean cackling. There I am, trying to save at least 3 lives, and I just can't stop laughing!! Everyone probably thought I was crazy. He stuck the needle in, very uncomfortable, and we began to flow!

Turns out, I was dizzy as heck. I stopped laughing and got really tired. Then I got hot, then I got cold and started shaking but convinced them I was fine... folks, I was not fine.

The last time I donated was two years ago and this time I had faith I would not get dizzy. Mission: failed. They laid me back and made me eat some pretzels and rest for 15 minutes before I could leave.

All in all, a great experience. I got a shirt with an alien on it! The staff were super friendly and joked around with me. They were very efficient and caring towards everyone that came in and I was grateful to be in their capable hands. Hopefully, my blood makes it to someone who needs it and my dizziness wasn't in vain!

note: i have no idea why i decided to blog this, but i figured i could look back and remember this weird time in history when i decided to give blood in the middle of a global crisis!
